I participate in the Sublima Eros 3 exhibition at the Espacio Sublima in Seville with the collage “ros”. Sublima Eros is an art show that tries to create a personal feminist erotic imaginary. This is its third annual call. After many years women have been nourished by images created by men, reaching a point where these images have replaced in many cases their own view of sex, so that when they think of erotic images they feel represented by stereotypical images created by men.
The call wants to collect impressions, emotions, experiences, feelings, imagination, etc. made into images based on sex and eroticism, seeking to express a language of its own where we, as women, can feel free to express sexuality without taboo or moral judgments about the female gender.
This call does not seek the morbid eye of the beholder but tries to shed light on the feminine eroticism that has often been castrated, silenced and forgotten by the art history, where the presence of women means a 5% in museums but constitute the 85% of the works in them, including female nudes, highlighting the need to break with the current discourse and give women the role of passive object to which it had been relegated to an active subject, a creator one.
In this third year, from Friday May 6th through Thursday June 2nd, you can see my collage along with the works of the following artists selected for the exhibition: Elena García, Lea Felino, Noelia Maeso, Blanca Lemus, Dora Román, Esther Oltra, Silvia Grimaldi, Natalia Romero, Theresa Gónzales-Novelles Rubio, Ale-Jan-Dra, Natalia Escudero, Florencia Magallanes, Pilar Perea, Páloma Gónzalez, Irina Lara y Maricruz Reina. The appointment is at 64, Goles Street of Seville. The exhibition will be open Monday through Friday from 6 to 9 pm.
Special thanks to Espacio Sublima for the pictures from the opening.
